With children in Nha Trang the hotel matters more than the city. A beach across the road stops being a plus when that road is six-lane Tran Phu, and the pool goes from a nice extra to the place where your child spends half the day. I lived in Vietnam for several months, and the families I saw happiest in Nha Trang fit three formats: an island resort with a water park, a resort with its own cove outside town, and an apartment with a kitchen in the center. Below are ten hotels from those three groups, chosen by Booking.com guest scores, with March 2026 prices and an honest note on who should skip each one.

How to Choose a Hotel for a Family Trip

Family with children by a resort pool

Three questions settle it. First, age. With a child under three you need a quiet beach with a gentle slope and a room where you can cook, which means an apartment or a resort with a shallow pool. With children aged five to twelve you need a water park, which means Vinpearl or a resort with slides. With teenagers the center works, with its cafes and board rental.

Second, how much time you will spend getting around. Island resorts and Bai Dai have the best sea, but every trip to town is a boat or 30 to 40 minutes in a taxi. If you plan excursions, stay in town and go to the islands by day. If the plan is a week by the pool, do the opposite.

Third, season. From October to December the sea in Nha Trang is murky and often closed by red flags, and a family holiday then rests on the pool and the water park. Pick a hotel with things to do away from the sea, or move the trip to February through May, when the water is clear and flat.

On money: a family room or apartment in the center runs 50 to 80 dollars a night in March, a five-star resort outside town 150 to 250, Vinpearl 150 to 300 with park tickets included. Children under six stay free almost everywhere without an extra bed; under twelve usually pay a breakfast supplement.

Ten Family Hotels Ranked by Guest Score

Scores are Booking.com averages rounded to whole numbers, review counts as of March 2026, prices for a family room or the cheapest rate for two adults and one child in the same month. Four of these ten also appear in our general ranking of Nha Trang hotels by district, so here the notes cover only what matters with children: the depth of the pool, the road to the beach, the kitchen, the distance to a doctor.

Vinpearl Resort Nha Trang

Five stars, a score of 8 from 1,452 reviews, Hon Tre island. The first resort of the Vinpearl complex: low buildings with red tile roofs around a garden and a private white-sand beach. For a family the key fact is that resort guests get free entry to VinWonders with its water park and a free cable car to the mainland, which saves about 900,000 dong per person per day. Kids’ pool, kids’ club, and a buffet children eat without negotiation. 150 to 220 dollars a night. Skip it if you want to wander the city in the evenings: the boat and cable car run to a schedule, and after nine you are on the island.

Five stars, score 8, 557 reviews, the same island but its quiet side. Villas with private pools in a garden and a panoramic pool above the beach, ten minutes by buggy to the park. This is for a family where the parents want quiet and the children want the water park, and both happen in one day. Villas from 250 dollars, rooms in the main building from 170. The drawback is the island’s: town is a boat ride away and there are no restaurants outside the resort.

Amiana Resort Nha Trang

Five stars, a score of 9 from 277 reviews, the highest of any family resort on the mainland. A secluded cove on the north shore of the bay, eight kilometers from the center, with a private beach, a 2,500-square-meter seawater pool where children swim all day, and two freshwater infinity pools. A kids’ club, villas along the beach with gardens. Rates run 150 to 220 dollars. Town and the market are 15 minutes and 100,000 dong by taxi, which adds up at two trips a day. For children under six this may be the best hotel in the city: the sea is shallow and calm even when the city beach has surf.

Mia Resort Nha Trang

Five stars, score 9, 310 reviews, Bai Dai beach 20 minutes from the airport. Villas and rooms on a hillside above a private cove, some villas with their own pools, free buggies around the grounds, cooking classes and Sunday yoga on the beach. Children like the sand and the shallow cove, parents like not having to go anywhere in the evening. From 160 dollars for a room, villas from 250. A resort for a family with one or two small children and no excursion plans: the center is 35 minutes and 300,000 dong away.

Hon Tam Resort

Five stars, a score of 8 from 1,016 reviews, Hon Tam island. Wooden bungalows with balconies by the beach, a pool, mud baths on the hillside, and a boat from Cau Da port every hour. Children enjoy the island feeling itself; the beach is calm and the water cleaner than in town. 120 to 180 dollars for a bungalow with breakfast. There is one restaurant, and by day four the menu wears thin, so Hon Tam works for three or four nights as part of a holiday, not all ten.

Diamond Bay Resort & Spa

Five stars, score 7, 246 reviews, a private bay south of the city on the airport road. Large green grounds where children can run, a private beach, a pool, and a free daily shuttle to the center ten kilometers away. 90 to 130 dollars, well below other resorts with a private beach, and that is the point. The score is lower because of the hotel’s age and distance from everything, but for a family that needs beach, pool and a budget it works. The airport is 20 kilometers away, handy for the first and last nights.

Sunrise Nha Trang Beach Hotel & Spa

Five stars, score 8, 690 reviews, Tran Phu seafront. A colonial-style building with columns, a large Roman-style pool in the courtyard, family rooms with two beds and a bay view, and a sunbed zone on the city beach with free towels. 90 to 120 dollars in March. Among seafront five-stars this is the best family value for space: rooms are big, the pool is shallow at the edges, and every cafe is within walking distance. The hotel is not young, and the finish shows it.

Havana Nha Trang Hotel

Five stars, score 8, 515 reviews, central Tran Phu across from the beach, five minutes from 2/4 Square. A high-rise with a pool, a spa and, rarely for Nha Trang, a babysitting service. An underpass leads from the hotel straight to the beach, so you never cross the six-lane road with children. Rooms with bathtubs, buffet breakfast, 70 to 100 dollars. For a family that wants the very center and a safe walk to the sea, that underpass is the main argument.

Azura Gold Hotel & Apartment

Four stars, a score of 9 from 3,920 reviews, more than any hotel in the city. An apartment tower 100 meters from the beach on the northern part of Tran Phu, next to the sailing center. Studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments with a kitchen, a washing machine and a rooftop pool. A studio costs 30 to 40 dollars, a two-bedroom 60 to 80. For a family staying two weeks this is half the price of a hotel, and a kitchen with a small child solves half the daily logistics. It is not a hotel with service: no daily cleaning, no breakfast, but Dam Market and cafes are ten minutes away.

Novotel Nha Trang

Novotel Nha Trang, photo 1
Novotel Nha Trang, photo 2
Novotel Nha Trang, photo 3
Novotel Nha Trang, photo 4

Four stars, score 8, 215 reviews, Tran Phu seafront. Chain predictability for a family: every room has a balcony and a sea view, connecting rooms for parents and children, a pool, a restaurant with a children’s menu, and children under 16 stay and eat breakfast free in their parents’ room, the Novotel standard that holds here too. 70 to 90 dollars. The beach is across the road at a pedestrian crossing, and Cau Da port with the island boats is a 15-minute walk.

In short: toddlers, Amiana or an Azura Gold apartment; school-age children, Vinpearl Resort with the park; teenagers, Novotel or Havana in the center; on a budget, Diamond Bay. Plan for February through May, book two months ahead for the winter holidays, and do not expect the November sea to look like the pictures.
