Nha Trang has more than a thousand hotels along six kilometers of shore, and half the questions about the city come down to one: where exactly to sleep. Stars matter less than the street. Tran Phu’s seafront, the backpacker grid behind it, the quiet north by Hon Chong, the resorts on Bai Dai and the islands are five different holidays at five different prices. I lived in Vietnam for several months and stayed in three of these five zones. Below is a breakdown of the districts and ten hotels picked by Booking.com guest scores, with review counts and March 2026 prices.
Five Districts and Who They Suit
Distances in Nha Trang are small. The city beach is six kilometers end to end, and a taxi from the Po Nagar bridge to the port costs about 100,000 dong, a Grab bike half that. So the district decides not how far you travel but what is outside the door at seven in the morning and at eleven at night: sand and a promenade, a street of bars, a fishing village, or a resort gate.
Tran Phu Seafront

Tran Phu street runs the full length of the city beach, and its hotels stand across the road from the water. Every five-star tower is here, and most of the four-stars. Advantages are obvious: bay views, sand beyond one pedestrian crossing, a promenade for evening walks. One serious drawback: the same room costs one and a half to two times more on the seafront than a hundred meters inland. Most convenient is the stretch between Nguyen Thi Minh Khai and Yersin streets, within walking distance of both the port and Dam Market.
The Grid Behind the Seafront

Between Tran Phu and Nguyen Thien Thuat street lies the district locals call the west side and travelers call the tourist quarter. Narrow streets, dozens of three- and four-stars with rooftop pools, cafes, massage parlors, scooter rental. Beach in three to seven minutes on foot. Most independent travelers stay here, and for a first trip it is the right call if you do not need the sea from your window. Check one thing when booking: the windows. Hung Vuong and Biet Thu streets are loud until midnight, and rooms facing the courtyard sleep better.
North by Hon Chong

Past the bridge over the Cai river, around the Po Nagar towers and Hon Chong cape, the city turns residential. Fewer hotels, prices a third lower, and Bai Duong beach is cleaner than the central strip. Bars and restaurants on the seafront are 10 to 15 minutes away by taxi. A district for a second visit, or for people who come for the sea and the mud baths rather than the nightlife.
Bai Dai and the South

Along the airport road, beside Bai Dai beach, stand the resorts with their own shoreline: Mia, Diamond Bay, and further on the Cam Ranh complexes. This is a holiday inside a hotel, not in a city. Downtown is 30 to 40 minutes and 300,000 dong away by taxi, so people come here with children or on honeymoon and go into town once or twice a week.
The Islands

Hon Tre with the Vinpearl complex and Hon Tam with its resort are a world apart. Private beaches, pools, a water park, and a connection to the city only by scheduled boat or cable car. Fine for three or four nights, tiring for ten.
What a Night Costs and When It Is Cheaper

Prices in Nha Trang swing with the seasons more than in Pattaya or Phuket. In January and February, around Lunar New Year and the winter holidays, a four-star on the second row costs 50 to 70 dollars. In March and April the same rooms go for 40 to 55, and in the rainy season from October to November for 30 to 40. Seafront five-stars start at 130 to 150 dollars in high season and fall to 90 in low. Apartments with a kitchen in towers such as Muong Thanh or Azura Gold run 25 to 40 dollars year-round, and for a stay longer than a week they are the best value in town.
Book with free cancellation six to eight weeks ahead if you travel in winter: the good hotels on Tran Phu fill up by December. The rest of the year there is no reason to book more than a month out, prices do not climb.
Ten Hotels Ranked by Guest Scores

These come from the fifty most booked hotels in Nha Trang, sorted by Booking.com guest score and number of reviews. Only hotels scoring 8 or higher with enough reviews to trust the number made the list. Each entry says who it suits and what is wrong with it.
Azura Gold Hotel & Apartment

Four stars, a score of 9 from 3,920 reviews, more than any other hotel in the city. An apartment tower 100 meters from the beach on the northern part of Tran Phu, with a rooftop pool, kitchens in the rooms and a laundry. A studio costs 30 to 40 dollars, a two-bedroom apartment 60 to 80. This is housing rather than a hotel with service: no daily cleaning, no breakfast, but a family staying two weeks pays half what a hotel would charge.
Sheraton Nha Trang Hotel & Spa

Five stars, score 9, 467 reviews. The flagship tower of the seafront, in the middle of Tran Phu facing the beach. An infinity pool on the sixth floor looking over the bay, a spa, a rooftop bar, and the breakfast guests praise most often. From 130 dollars in March, up to 200 in winter. Its one weakness: no private beach, only a sunbed zone across the road.
InterContinental Nha Trang

Five stars, score 9, 279 reviews. The tower next to the Sheraton, with larger rooms and a sea view from every one. A smaller but quieter pool, and a club floor with evening cocktails. Same price range, 130 to 180 dollars. Choose between the two by what matters more: the pool and bar at the Sheraton, room size at the InterContinental.
Amiana Resort Nha Trang

Five stars, score 9, 277 reviews. A resort in a secluded cove on the north shore of the bay, 15 minutes from downtown. Private beach, a 2,500-square-meter seawater pool, bungalows in a garden. The quietest five-star option within the city limits, 150 to 220 dollars a night. Every dinner outside the hotel means a taxi, and that adds up.
Mia Resort Nha Trang

Five stars, score 9, 310 reviews. Villas and rooms on a hillside above a private cove on Bai Dai, 20 minutes from the airport and 35 from downtown. People eat, sleep and swim here without leaving, and that is the point. Free yoga, films on the beach, a pool villa from 250 dollars, a room in the main building from 160. Wrong for a city holiday, right for a honeymoon.
Sunrise Nha Trang Beach Hotel & Spa

Five stars, score 8, 690 reviews. A colonial-style building with columns on the seafront, south of the Sheraton. A large courtyard pool, spacious rooms with balconies, and prices below its five-star neighbors: 90 to 120 dollars in March. It is not a young hotel and the finish shows wear in places, but for that money on the seafront there is nothing better.
The Summer Hotel

Four stars, score 8, 928 reviews. Second row in the tourist quarter, four minutes to the beach, a rooftop pool with a view of the bay, breakfast included. 45 to 60 dollars. A classic first-trip choice: central, walkable, no seafront premium. Rooms on the lower floors are small, so ask for the tenth floor or higher.
Nha Trang Lodge Hotel

Four stars, score 8, 575 reviews. One of the first high-rises on Tran Phu, right on the seafront at the center of the beach. Sea-view rooms from 55 to 70 dollars, cheaper than any other four-star on the first row. The hotel is over twenty years old and it shows, but renovations are regular and the location cannot be improved.
Novotel Nha Trang

Four stars, score 8, 215 reviews. Chain predictability on the seafront: standard rooms, a reliable breakfast, a pool, and the sea from most windows. 70 to 90 dollars. A good pick if you want the first row without the risk of a tired independent hotel.
Pavillon Garden Hotel

Three stars with a score of 8 from 1,269 reviews, a rare combination at this level. It sits in the grid behind the seafront, five minutes to the beach, with a pool and a spa. 30 to 40 dollars with breakfast. The most popular budget hotel in the city among independent travelers, and the reviews explain why: clean, quiet, English-speaking staff.
A note on the island: Vinpearl Luxury on Hon Tre also holds a 9 from 294 reviews, but it is a choice for people who come for the water park and do not plan to go into town. It gets its own section in our article on the islands of the bay.
All Ten in One Table
Prices below are for a standard double in March 2026 as shown on Booking.com, taxes included and breakfast only where the text says so. Scores are rounded to whole numbers. Read the review count together with the score: a 9 from 3,920 guests and a 9 from 279 guests are not the same promise.

| Pavillon Garden | 3 | 8 / 1,269 | Tourist quarter | $30 to 40 | Budget without compromise |
What to Check Before You Book
- Which way the windows face. In the Tran Phu towers half the rooms look at the city, not the sea. If the view matters, look for “sea view” or “ocean view” in the room category, not “partial.”
- Deposit. Many hotels ask for 500,000 to 1,000,000 dong in cash or block it on your card. It comes back at checkout, but budget the cash for it.
- Breakfast. In the three-stars of the tourist quarter breakfast is often token. Cafes around them serve pho and coffee for 60,000 to 80,000 dong, so a room-only rate is frequently the better deal.
- Noise. Hung Vuong, Biet Thu and Nguyen Thien Thuat streets stay lively until midnight. A courtyard-facing room or a higher floor solves it.
- Airport distance. Tran Phu is 40 to 50 minutes from the airport, Bai Dai 15. With an early flight, the last night is easier spent on Bai Dai or at an airport hotel.
In short: for a first trip, The Summer or Pavillon Garden on the second row. For a sea view at a sane price, Nha Trang Lodge or Sunrise. For a holiday without leaving the hotel, Mia or Amiana. For a family of four staying two weeks, an apartment at Azura Gold. And in October and November, do not book anything by the sea at all: red flags close the beach for most of those weeks, and there is no point paying for the seafront.
