The whole place is designed to look just like old Dubai, sprawling right along the Dubai Creek. You get that classic architecture but with all the modern perks – think cool cafes, galleries, and little shops.

4. Dubai Water Canal

This is the real heart of Al Fahidi. I know we mentioned it before, but Bastakiya deserves its own moment. It’s a maze of narrow, shaded alleyways. It feels like time has just stopped here.

• What to See: Look up and you’ll spot the best-preserved wind towers (called barjeel). These were the original, natural air-conditioners back in the day.
• The Vibe: It’s a great place to hunt for handmade souvenirs. You can also duck into the little art galleries hidden inside the old houses.

7. Get a Surprise View of the Marina from the Emirates Golf Club

You don’t have to be a golfer to come here. Not at all. Head up to one of the club’s terraces, especially the restaurant’s. The view of the Dubai Marina skyline is just incredible.
